PREMIERE IN ABQ & WINNING BEST SHORT AWARD !

On June 9th, we premiered our short film for the audience of the Albuquerque Film & Media Experience (AFME). We were very excited to finally show our work, appropriately in the land where it was filmed and takes place. The response from the audience was tremendous, with people showing real interest in the story and appreciating the quality of our film. It was amazing to find out later in the day that we won the Audience Award for Best Short of the festival!

FINAL PREPARATIONS

First to announce one great thing that’s happened – we were awarded the PANAVISION NEW FILMMAKER GRANT! It’s a great boost to work with such an amazing organization.

THE GRAND OLD TEMPLE OF THE WEST

A couple of weeks ago, the Six Points Fellowship, which is supporting our project, held our monthly meeting at the Breed Street Shul in Los Angeles. This synagogue is one of the oldest in the West.

SCRIPTING AWAY

As April rolled in, time began to feel meaningful for our project. We’ve been preparing and researching but as our goal is to shoot the short fiction film about Solomon in June, there is suddenly not so much time left. The task now is to finalize the script, raise more funds, and find the great actors who will make it all real.

MARCH 2012 PROJECT UPDATE

We started working on the narrative film part of our project in November.  Since then, most of the time has been spent on researching the historical information pertaining to the story and figuring out shooting locations. 

NEW MEXICO LOCATION SCOUT

A location scout is in many ways a very exciting part of the pre-production process. It’s the time when all the story dreams that have been swirling around your head begin to take physical shapes. The characters acquire their rooms and buildings, their lakes and mountains.
